Mountain guide / Snow & conditions

Start with the mountain’s own report.

The atlas conditions panel reads a saved snapshot of the resort’s public snow report. Readings retain the operator’s labels and unavailable values, with source-update and retrieval times shown separately.

Operator’s conditions report ↗

Each reading is attributed to the operator’s source report. Unavailable and unreported fields remain explicit.

Two timestamps, different meanings.

When the source changed

Report update time

The source’s update text tells you when the operator says its report was updated. An incomplete date stays incomplete; the atlas does not invent a missing year or turn a recent website fetch into a new snow measurement.

When the atlas checked

Retrieval time

The fetch time tells you when the collector last obtained a report. If a refresh fails, the panel retains the last successful report and its original retrieval time, alongside the failed-attempt notice.

“N/A” means unavailable. A missing or unavailable snow value is not zero inches. The atlas does not estimate snowfall or invent operating status when the source has no reading.

The conditions panel checks for an updated saved snapshot while it is open. It identifies old retrievals and collector errors. For the operator’s current report directly, use the official link below.

What to check before a mountain day

Snow & weather

Read new snowfall, base and summit depths, surface conditions, visibility and wind where the operator publishes them. Coverage and surface conditions can vary across the mountain.

Runs, lifts & hours

Use the resort’s operating report and calendar. A trail line or chairlift on the atlas is a map snapshot, with no implied opening, grooming or service status.

Nordic grooming

The Nordic trail network has separate grooming information. Its ski trails should not be treated as snowshoe routes, and a saved difficulty rating does not establish current grooming.

Roads, parking & winter access

Check current state park notices and the rules for your exact Sno-Park or resort parking area. Seasonal permits, road closures and activity restrictions are separate from snow totals.

The atlas’s orange morning light and rendered snow are visual styling. They do not show the current weather, measured snow coverage or the time of day at Mt. Spokane. Official cameras offer a separate view, with availability and image timestamps controlled by their providers.
